Summer Grilling Recipes
With summer in full swing, now is the perfect time to look for some delicious recipes for grilling. With so many different ideas, it is often hard to find the perfect food to make when entertaining guests, and one course that is often overlooked when grilling is dessert. The following ideas are perfect after any meal, as your family and friends will marvel over them.
A classic dessert that can be turned into a grilling favorite is the Strawberry shortcake Kabob. To make, simply cut chunks of angel food cake into 1.5 inch cubes. Hull strawberries to give a "V" shape. Microwave 6 tablespoons of strawberry jam, then coat the strawberries with this. Alternating between a chunk of angel food cake and strawberries, thread these onto a skewer. Grill fruit kabobs for 3 to 4 minutes, then serve immediately with whipped cream.
Campfire cones are a decadent way to end a meal. They are easy to toss together and kids, as well as adults, love them. To make, spread some peanut butter on the inside of a sugar ice cream cone, then add chopped up bananas, chocolate chips, and mini marshmallows. For a different flavor, try adding chopped strawberries and nuts. Wrap each cone in foil, then place on the grill, closing the top. Cook for 5 to 10 minutes, turning once.
If you are short on time, grilled doughnuts are the perfect dessert to whip together. Simply coat a glazed doughnut with cooking spray, then grill the doughnut on each side until perfectly browned. This wonderful creation will make everyone ooh and awe in delight.
If you are a fruit lover, then you must try grilled peaches. Begin by halving and pitting a peach, then place on a thick piece of foil. Sprinkle with a bit of lemon juice, brown sugar and a few blueberries. Dot the top with some butter, then grill for 20 minutes after sealing the entire peach in the foil. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Grilled pineapple is as delicious as the grilled peaches. Core and peel a whole fresh pineapple, then cut into 16 wedges. Mix 3 tablespoons honey with 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, then coat the pineapple wedges. Spray the grill with cooking spray, then place the pineapple wedges onto the grill for 4 minutes on each side, taking care not to overcook. This fragrant fruit may also be served with ice cream for an even more delicious treat.
One food that is so easy to make on the grill is blueberry cobbler! This delicious dessert will wow anyone. Just place 4 cups of blueberries that have been mixed with 2 tablespoons of flour and 1/4 cup sugar into a foil pan. Place on the grill and cook for 10 minutes, then stir. Cook an additional 10 minutes, then place a can of buttermilk biscuits on the top. Cook with the lid of the grill closed for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
Dessert is a great course that should be offered at the end of every meal when you have friends and family over for entertainment. The recipes above will prove that you are indeed a grill master!
