Do video games make you violent?

There is a negative belief that video games can cause players to commit acts of violence after being exposed to violent material. However, even supporters of the negative effects of violent games dont actually believe there is a direct correlation between the violence and games. What do you feel? Share your views.

This theory has been around for a very long time. And it's been proven time and time again and that it's just not true. People who play video games are not more violent. Just another lie in the crusade to ban or limit the sale and playing of mature video games. It actually annoys me because it's just an easy way out to blame video games.

No they do not. If they did, then everyone that played them would be violent and that is clearly not the case.

Seriously. Stop blaming gamers and take a look at how these people are being raised. The surroundings they grow up in. Society and social media are way more to blame.

This is a really great question, kudos to you for asking! I do believe this is like a relationship type situation. When a child is a born it watches its mother and father and learns from them. The more this child sees its parents doing the things they do whether it be wrong or right, that is what the child is going to do because it's what seems right to the child, it's what the child knows to do. I'd say if you're like 5 years old playing Grand Theft Auto, then of course you'll think it's okay to steal cars and run over people. But if you're around 17 years old and you're playing Grand Theft Auto I don't think it will affect you that much.

How can they make you violent when they are stress reliefs?
