Layout and some theme changes
I like the sidebars but having two sidebars is not a good idea and not to mention that these sidebars are longer than the forum content. The top leftmost widget serves no purpose, according to me. It doesn't welcome a user and it is just displaying the users post count and message count, along with the avatar. So, I am not so sure why it's even there. As for the top members list, people would like to know that top posters list, but I am not so sure about the most tagged members. Also, if possible you guys should limit the latest posts to 5 or 10 instead of 13.
These are just suggestions. Feel free to reject them if they sound meaningless.

Thanks for the suggestions @Claraviolet. Some of them are pretty good. I've already changed one thing that you've suggested and I'll look into the others later

I've switched a couple of things up. What do you think?
Re: Layout and some theme changes
It looks great now except for the black bar. Somehow it doesn't looks good. Can you change it's color to blue such that it can blend in with the forum color? Also, if possible would you mind re-adjusting the sidebar starting point? Also, is there any facebook page for this forum? I saw share buttons and feeds but I couldn't find a facebook page anywhere. It's a good idea to have backlinks from popular social media websites.Steve wrote:Steve wrote:Claraviolet wrote:I like the sidebars but having two sidebars is not a good idea and not to mention that these sidebars are longer than the forum content. That's what I learned from an SEO course I had done, a long time ago. Also, ever heard of hootsuite? It helps you in sharing the content of your forum quite easily in various socail media sites.

@Claraviolet
It was blue at one point. I actually changed it because it blended in too much with the forum. I'll play with it again and see how it looks now.
What do you mean by re-adjust the sidebar starting point?
No. Currently I do not have a Facebook page for the forum. It's on my list of things to do, but I've been more focused on building content.
I got rid of the share button/like button widget I had because it slowing down the load page times. However there is still a "share" with links to multiple social media sites on the top black bar. And there is an option to like on fb or tweet in the upper right hand corner of every thread.
I've never heard of hootsuite. But i'll check it out.
Thanks for all the help! I really appreciate it.
Re: Layout and some theme changes
Well, blending too much would be good and if you are thinking about notifications, you can give them a red color so that they stand out in all the blue color. I would strongly suggest you to get a facebook page, twitter account and obtain back-links to this site. It would help a lot with respect to domain ranking.Steve wrote:Claraviolet wrote:It looks great now except for the black bar. Somehow it doesn't looks good. Also, it's refreshing to see less stuff in the sidebar. As for the starting point, the sidebar isn't in par with the forum content and it doesn't look good that way. If you want I can provide a screenshot but just open index page and take a look at the sidebar. By the way, I am using my laptop to access this site so far.

Yes, please provide a screenshot because the forum is reactive so it scales with any screen size. And in all my browsers and screen sizes it's on par with the forum categories.
Re: Layout and some theme changes
I have inserted the screenshot below. Please take a look at it. I have 15.6 inches laptop and I don't remember the dimensions but I hope that gives you an idea about the size. I have also noticed that this forum fits well with all the screen-sizes. I used google mobile friendly check for that.Steve wrote:Claraviolet wrote:Well, blending too much would be good and if you are thinking about notifications, you can give them a red color so that they stand out in all the blue color. This is just a minor issue. So, you don't have to pay much attention to my rambling. I just like everything to be perfect and it's hard to break my habit. I apologize for my meddlesome behavior.
Re: Layout and some theme changes
Oh lol. Yea that's how it looks on my screen as well. I'm not going to change that lol. I did just create a #twitter account though =)

Well, I am used to seeing all the sidebars and forum content start at the very same level. That's great! Now share stuff and if you don't have enough time to share stuff in twitter or facebook, you can always use hootsuite to help you. It will automatically publish new threads to those accounts. It's free for three social media websites. If you want to you can add more accounts by upgrading to the premium version.
I hope that helps you a bit. If you need any help, let me know. I would love to help.
